Each 5ml syrup contains:
Ammonium Chloride B.P. 30.0mg
Ipecacuanha Liquid Extract B.P.C. 10.0µl
Liquuorice Extract B.P.C. 50mg
Peppermint Oil B.P.C. 6.9µl
Aniseed Oil B.P. 2.6µl
Avrolin Expectorant is non-drowsy formulation for the relief of coughs and symptoms of cold including Catarrh and nasal congestion.
The product is contra-indicated in patients who are hypersensitivity to any of the components of the preparation.
Avrolin Expectorant is also contra-indicated in patients with hepatic or renal impairment and in patients with cardiovascular disorders and in those at risk of seizures.
Dosage and Administration
1-5 years: 5ml (1 teaspoonful) 3 times daily.
6-12 years: 10ml (2 teaspoonfuls) 3 times daily.
12 years and above: 10ml – 15ml (2-3 teaspoonfuls) 3 times daily.
For short term use only; if symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
Side effects are rare and usually mild and can be reduced by giving the drug with meals. Large doses have an irritant effect on the gastrointestinal tract and are reported to cause gastrointestinal disturbances like nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
Avoid taking on empty stomach.
Avrolin Expectorant when taken with food is well tolerated.
The product should be used with caution in pregnancy and lactation.
Avrolin Expectorant comes in 100ml bottles.
Store in a cool dry place.
