Each tablet contains chlorpheniramine maleate B.P. 4mg
Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine, H1 blocker, it blocks the effects of the naturally occurring chemical histamine in the the body.
Chlorpheniramine is used for the symptomatic relief of hypersensitivity reactions such as sneezing, runny nose and other symptoms of allergies and the common cold.
Chlorpheniramine may also be used for purposes other than those listed in this medication guide.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
CHILDREN: 6-12 years 2mg every 4-6 hours (maximum 12mg daily)
ADULTS: 4mg every 4-6 hours (maximum 24mg daily)
Take Chlorpheniramine exactly as directed by your doctor.
Take each dose with a full glass of water.
Chlorpheniramine can be taken with or without food.
POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS OF CHLORPHENIRAMINE
* Sleepiness, fatigue or dizziness
* Dry mouth
* Difficulty urinating or an enlarged prostrate.
Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you have:
– Glaucoma or increased pressure in the eye
– A stomach ulcer
– An enlarged prostate, bladder problems or difficulty urinating
– An overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism)
– Cardiovascular disease
Chlorpgeniramine may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Use caution when driving, operating machinery or performing other hazardous activities.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I MISS A DOSE
Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take only your next regularly scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose of this medication unless otherwise directed by your doctor.
