Each uncoated tablets contains

Frusemide B.P. 40 mg.



Frusemide tablet is indicated for oedema due to heart failure.

Frusemide can also be used to treat a condition called Oliguria. Oliguria is when the body only produce small amounts of urine, often caused by kidney problems.

Frusemide is sometimes used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure).

Furosemide is also sometimes known as frusemide. Either of these names are mentioned on the packaging of the medicine.



Take Frusemide exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.

Frusemide will make you urinate more often, so your doctor or pharmacist will usually advise you to take your dose in the morning so you will not need to get up in the night. If you take more than one dose per day, take the last dose before 6 pm in the evening.

Never take more than the prescribed dose. If you suspect that you or someone else has taken an overdose of Frusemide contact your doctor or go to the accident and emergency department of your local hospital at once. Always take the container with you, if possible, even if it is empty.



To be taken only on the advice of a medical practitioner (Doctor). Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breast feeding, have any liver or kidney problems, hypotension, prostate problems or have problems urinating (passing water), hypokalaemia, or if you taking any other medicine including herbal medicines.



Feeling sick, tummy upset, gout (painful or stiff joints), lightheadedness, dry mouth, muscle cramps, skin rashes or headache. Signs of excessive potassium loss are dryness of the mouth, increased thirst, irregular heartbeat, mood changes, muscle cramps or pain, feeling or being sick, unusual tiredness or weakness, a weak pulse or loss of appetite, signs of excessive sodium loss are confusion, convulsions (fits), difficulty concentrating, irritability, muscle cramps and unusual tiredness or weakness. De-hydration due to too much loss of potassium and sodium from the body.

Frusemide may cause a dry mouth.

Frusemide may cause you to experience faintness or dizziness when getting up from a sitting or laying position. Getting up slowly should help.

If you have diabetes Frusemide may affect you blood sugar levels.



Hypersensitivity (allergic) to Frusemide or contents of Frusemide tablets.



Store in a well closed container in a cool place, protected from moisture and light.


Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
